Please try to join the meeting 15-20 minutes early to get everything organized for a smooth meeting.
Recruit two (2) helpers to:
Monitor the Zoom Waiting Room and admit people to the meeting as needed - they will need Co-Host privileges
Use Zoom's Share Screen function to show the meeting readings onscreen at the appropriate times.
(Instructions are available on the Meeting Readings page on www.sotogroup.org)
If you have a topic to read from A.A. approved literature, see if someone can share it onscreen and in the Chat area in Zoom.
Good Morning, my name is ________ and I am an alcoholic.
Welcome to the Corvallis SOTO Online Meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous. We ask that while you are not speaking that you please mute your microphone so as not to disrupt the meeting.
Let’s start our meeting with a moment of silence followed by the Serenity Prayer:
God, grant us the Serenity to
Accept the things we cannot change,
Courage to change the things we can, and
Wisdom to know the difference.
Our beginning readings for the meeting are:
The A.A. Preamble;
How it Works; and
The Twelve Traditions
I have asked ________ to show the readings onscreen.
Can we please get some volunteers to read them? This is a great opportunity for people who haven't read recently to participate!
Thank you to our readers.
If there is there anyone new to AA or who is here for the first time, welcome! Would you please introduce yourself by your first name only, so we can get to know you?
In the spirit of anonymity we ask that who you see here and what is said here - please let it stay here.
We would like to honor any periods of sobriety at this time.
Is there anyone here with 24 hours – 29 days of sobriety?...30, 60 or 90 days?...6 mos., 9 months or 1 year?...18 months or any multiples of years?
How about just for today?
Are there any AA-related announcements?
Please join us for the SOTO Group's monthly business meeting on the first Sunday of each month after the regular meeting. Everyone is encouraged to attend.
Is there anyone willing to chair next week’s meeting - this is another great opportunity to participate!
Our meeting format is that I will read a topic from our A.A. approved literature, and then we'll each share our thoughts on the reading.
Please share if you're having trouble staying sober today.
Because this is a meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous, we ask that you:
Keep your sharing to topics related to your alcoholism
Limit your sharing to 5 minutes or less
Mute your mobile devices and microphones when you're not speaking
Try to avoid crosstalk
Use the "Everyone" selection in the chat window only for messages for the entire group
The meeting will go until 10:00.
Because we are meeting online, we will not have a halftime break for the 7th Tradition, but there is a Contributions page on www.sotogroup.org
Leader: now please read the topic you have chosen, and then open the meeting for sharing.
Can someone please read The Promises? (They're at the end of the Meeting Readings pages.)
Close the meeting with a prayer of your choice.
(See the Some A.A. Prayers page on www.sotogroup.org for ideas)
